Draft for AMEBIN's review

The highlighted details must be completed by AMEBIN. We recommend that a lawyer reviews the text before it is published as final.

AMEBIN takes care of the personal data you share with us. This notice explains what data we collect through this website, how we use it and how you can exercise your rights, under Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The Mexican Alliance for Biodiversity and Business (AMEBIN), Pending: legal name or entity type, located at Pending: address, is responsible for processing and protecting the personal data you provide through this website. For any matter related to your data, write to secretariado@amebin.org.

2. What data we collect

We only collect the data you provide in the contact form:

  • Name.
  • Company or organization.
  • Email address.
  • The content of your message.

We do not request sensitive personal data (such as health, ethnic origin or beliefs); please do not include it in your message.

In addition, visiting the site automatically generates technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, which our providers use to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (see section 4).

3. How we use your data

We use your data only for these purposes, which are necessary to handle your request:

  • Replying to your message and following up on your request.
  • Sharing information about AMEBIN, its activities and how to join the alliance, when you ask for it.
  • Protecting the form against automated submissions (spam).

We do not use your data for advertising or to send you communications you did not request, and we do not sell it or hand it over to third parties.

4. Providers that support us

To run the site we work with providers that process data only on AMEBIN's behalf and following its instructions:

  • Vercel: website hosting.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: anti-spam verification for the form; it analyzes technical browser signals to tell people apart from automated programs.
  • Resend: delivery of your message to AMEBIN's inbox.
  • Sanity: storage of the site's content and images.

Some of these providers may process information outside Mexico. Other than these cases, we do not share your data unless a competent authority requires it under the law.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as needed to handle your request and, where applicable, to follow up on any relationship that arises from it. After that, it is securely deleted.

6. Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you (access), to correct it (rectification), to ask us to delete it (cancellation) and to object to its use (objection), known in Mexico as ARCO rights. You may also withdraw your consent or ask us to limit the use of your data.

To do so, write to secretariado@amebin.org with the subject “ARCO rights” and include:

  • Your name and a way for us to send you our reply.
  • A document proving your identity or, where applicable, that of your legal representative.
  • Which right you want to exercise and regarding which data.
  • Any other detail that helps us locate your information.

We will reply through the same channel within the time limits set by law.

7. Cookies

This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, or third-party tracking tools. It only uses technical tools that are essential for it to work:

  • A language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) that remembers whether you chose Spanish or English.
  • Those used by Cloudflare Turnstile solely for the form's anti-spam verification.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the site will keep working, although it may not remember your language.

8. Links to other sites

This site includes links to external pages, such as LinkedIn, iNaturalist or our members' websites. AMEBIN is not responsible for how those sites handle data; we recommend reviewing their own privacy notices.

9. Changes to this notice

This notice may change due to legal updates or changes to our services. Any modification will be published on this page, together with the date of its last update.

If you believe your right to personal data protection has been violated, you may contact the competent authority on the matter.
